Still using crib?

Hello ladies has anyone converted their crib into a toddler bed yet? Too soon?

we are still using a crib and i plan to use it until he starts climbing out. hopefully for another year or so, but we will see.

We converted when he was 12 months old (he’s a climber) and it’s been amazing!! The first couple of month we put his toys up at night (we don’t have to anymore) so he wouldn’t get out and stay up all night. From night 1 onwards he’s slept incredible in the bed. The first few months he’d get up in the morning and play with his stuffed animal and run around. Now he bangs on his door to wake us up in the morning which I’m not sure how to break. I miss him just saying mama and giggling. But he’s also obsessed right now with doors so maybe it’s a stage. We have his room completely child proofed and have a gate on the outside of his door just in case he figured out the child door knob in his room. For us it’s been a great decision. We’re actually looking into getting him a big boy bed with a child railing when we move next month since his little brother is due in 16 weeks.

We switched to a toddler bed (with a bed rail) about a month ago and she loves it. We coslept before and she knew how to get off a bed herself so we felt safe switching. Go with what your gut and LO is telling you ☺

Mine is still in a cot. He’s in a sleeping bag too because he’s such a fidget in the night he always kicks any kind of blanket off. So I am hoping to keep him in there as long as possible!

I’m considering switching so she can get out when she wants in the morning. But I will probably wait until closer to 2

i put my daughter in a toddler bed at 11 months she never gets out of it, put her ownself to sleep she is now 16 momths and still does great

I guess it depends on the kid, but personally I'm not switching to a bed until she either figures out how to climb out, or she hits 2 1/2-3 years old. Whichever comes first. Call me crazy, but I still like that she's contained and can't just get up and do whatever she wants. Besides, I'm a heavy sleeper and I can't imagine the trouble she would get into...

Wait as long as you can! My daughter was always off the growth charts but we kept her in the crib until 2.5-3!

Switched when he was 14 months old with a bedrail. He won’t climb out. I don’t know if he just doesn’t know how or is scared to. But I’m fine with it lol. He just sits there till i go and grab him out. But it’s easier for me since sometimes he will wake up from a bad dream and want to be patted. I can now sit on the floor next to him and pat him back to sleep without bending so far into the crib.
