Polycystic symdrome and TTC

So I was told today I might have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and have to get done another ultrasound. I have been trying to conceive for 6 months and I am taking ovulation test which are coming out positive. I was told yo cant ovulate when having PCOS. Im not too familiar with this and would like to hear anyone who has had an experience with this and how long it took you to conceive? She said she wont start me on metformin until she does the next sonogram. I do get regular period and ovulate every month according to ovulation test. Any experiences ladies?
