Not your typical vax convo

This isn't meant to be a call out post or anything of that nature. This is also not meant to become a pro or anti vax war. This is meant to be more like 'informative'.

Can someone please explain to me why so many pro-vax people are against the flu shot? I understand that vaccines save lives, so people get vaccinated. But since people are dying from the flu, I just kinda figured more pro-vax people would also be 'pro flu shot'. This is not meant to come across as a rude question, nor am I trying to judge or shame, I am simply curious.

Also, what about the chicken pox vaccine? I assume many of us here grew up before that particular vaccine even came into existence (1995). I had the chicken pox when I was a child, as did everyone I knew. As far as I know, it is quite rarely a deadly virus - I grew up thinking of it as more of an inconvenience. Do people feel as strongly about the chicken pox vaccine as they do all other vaccines?

And to keep people from making assumptions: my LO is fully vaccinated (after I did plenty research while pregnant, to make an informed decision) and has the flu shot as well (my logic is - a little bit of protection is better than none, particularly this year with the flu being so deadly).

Thank you ahead of time for being courteous and respectful to one another, it is much appreciated.
