32 weeks, 1cm dilated and cervix is super thin and soft!!!

Erin

I’m 32 weeks with my 1st. Pregnancy has been great with no complications until....... two days ago I noticed a severe pain in my pelvis bone. Unbearable to walk and causing lots of pressure downstairs (only while walking, not standing or sitting) so I call the OB. He wants to see me just to get me checked. I’m sitting in the room talking with the doc, and he decides he wants to check my cervix just in case. The face he made, made me wonder what was going on. He said I wasn’t going to check the cervix at first but I’m glad I did. (He said nothing threw up red flags since it was just normal pelvis pain for a jogging pregnant women). He said you are 1cm dilated and my cervix is super thin and soft. He immediately put me on a 2 day bedrest and gave me a steroid to help with the baby’s lung development. He also put me on a machine to see if I was having contractions and I just didn’t feel them. I had 2 small ones in 20 mins according to the machine (I didn’t feel a thing). I go back the next day for another steroid and they will do the “preterm labor” test. The only “Pains” I’ve been having is a cramping pain in my belly with occasional tightening feeling in my upper abdomen. I’m Currently laying in bed cramping like a period cramp. What should I do? Wait until my appointment at 3 in the afternoon?? It’s 4am right now. Advice please!!!
