Baby shower and birthday?!

This is my second pregnancy and I am not sure if anyone is throwing me a baby shower. So we were thinking of throwing ourselves a "diaper shower" with our son (turning 4) birthday. I am due one week after his birthday. So most likely we will do it a month early and am wondering if anyone has done 2 celebrations in one?

I totally get doing the party early. My son's birthday party is next week, I'll be almost 27 weeks and getting everything ready is exhausting. However, I'm not sure it's a good idea to combine his birthday with a diaper shower. Especially since you'll probably have joint birthday parties in the years to come, I'd make this year's party all about him.

Though I can't offer any double party suggestions just yet, I had to comment on the fact that my daughter is due a week before my son's 4th birthday! So I totally commiserate with you there lol. My mom, sister, and best friend have planned to throw us a baby shower though, next month. We lived out of town during our son's pregnancy so they are really excited to be able to share in this one. How do people feel about you throwing your son a birthday party a month in advance?! It sounds like you just want a diaper shower but using your son birthday as an excuse.
