Times are tough
My names Gwendolyn, I’m 17 years old and my family and I have been homeless for over a year. We lost our house at the end of October 2016, we were on the search for a new house or an apartment just to settle in and had no luck. It turned into months being at motels, friends houses, and a family members one bedroom apartment. We lived in California this whole time, until we came to San Antonio Texas, hoping things would get better. We made it to texas and are still in motel rooms, paying every day for a room has caused us to run out of the money we had. My mom works for lyft, but there’s not much action out here. She goes a whole day only to get 3 to 4 short rides. The car is the only thing we have right now. There’s 6 of us in a motel room with two beds, we have a 5 seater car and it doesn’t fit all of us and our bags. We have these Disney pins my grandma and mom have collected ever since I was a little girl, we’ve had them for years and with this situation we are having to put them up for sell just to make money for the room, food, gas, etc. We are still on the search for an apartment but it’s still a struggle. I know my my and grandma stress a lot about this but it’s a lot of stress on me to where I don’t sleep at all at night, I’m not in school because of this and I had my whole life planned. I knew what I wanted and how to get it and this situation ruined all of it. I’m not sure how to deal with it. It’s so bad I made a gofundme to try to get help. gofundme.com/49d8pt-homeless-family-of-6
