Help! Winnie or Winifred?

I’m in love with the name Winnie for my babygirl. But when I think of her submitting a job application when she’s 30, I think she should have a more solid name. Should I name her Winifred but only ever call her Winnie, or just name her Winnie? Middle name will be Lee.

It’s better to have a full name to fall back on then only a nickname as a first name. My grandfather was always asked if James was his full name but his birth name was Jimmie. Cute for a child but it didn’t age well. At the end of the day it won’t be your name, so it’s better to give your child the option if they want it for the future.
