You could always let him sleep on his stomach.. the whole sleeping on their back thing is bs.. babies know how to move their heads to breathe. My son sleeps all night and doesn’t have any problems. Try letting him nap that way and watch him until you feel comfortable leaving him on his tummy alone.

He sleeps on both sides of his face so everywhere else is fine, he just spends a lot of time on his back in a bouncer right now. He is just now starting to like being on his tummy after months of him screaming blood murder. We do tummy time on my chest daily.

My husband found a flat spot last night! I cannot believe I hadn't noticed it! I am now completely freaking out. He sleeps in a rock n play and has been sleeping 6 to 9 hours straight at night. I read it can be a problem with "good sleepers". I have sucked at making him do tummy time until now because he's not a fan. but now I am scared to ever put him on his back. He will be 11 weeks tomorrow. What is everyone doing to try and correct it? should I contact my doctor now about it or wait until his 4 month appt in early april??

The doc not  being worried isn't something I would be comfortable with using as a reason to ignore it. They won't treat until at least 6 months so that's the reason they down play it. Flat head syndrome can have repurcussions on children (and adults) as they grow and develop. You can buy products to help but that looks like it's already set in.

If your doctor isn’t worried i wouldn’t be either. Just keep up the tummy time and trying to not have him on his back to much.
