How should I ask him?

So my boyfriend and I have our anniversary comimg up at the end of this month. This paat weekend he was looking at some insulated jackets for when he takes his motorcycle out. He found this one that he really liked but it's expensive so he said he'll pass on it. Well I decided I am gonna save up and get that for h for our anniversary!

The problem is, there were two different colors of the flannel and I forgot which o e it was he said he really liked. Both would look great on him but still. How can I bring it up and ask him again without him being suspicious? He's witty lol so it's hard to surprise him let alone ask him something like this without him knowing something is up!
