Teaching a 3yr old to ride bike??

Ok mommies I need some help. How did you teach your child to ride a bike? I'm a nanny for two girls and I've been here for over 2yrs. I'm having a very hard time trying to teach the three year old how to ride a big girl bike. Her Dad took the tricycle away before she learned how to ride that first! He kept saying that she needed to move on. I've been trying to teach her for months now and I'm running out of ideas. I just want to give up. She just doesn't understand what to do. How did you explain it to your child? Help please and thanks!

I don't think a 3 yr old is physically developed enough to ride without training wheels.

Have her sit on it and put her feet on the peddles and help her peddle. Or just get her comfortable on the bike first if she is scared of it. I don't get why they took it from her before she knew how to ride it :/ but get her comfortable on it and help her to peddle and make sure the seat is adjusted right for her and she has a helmet.

My daughter will be 3 next month. She's on a little bike (thrift store score $6) with training wheels she just goes at it herself and even picked out her helmet they will just do it at their own pace I suppose.

It depends on the kid some kids take a lot more time than others, I was riding a bike with no training wheels at 4 but my step brother couldn't even ride a bike at 7, just keep working with her but understand that it might just take time

Its all up to the child. My son rode a bike aince he was 2 with training wheels  he has a cousin a year older than him so whem he saw that he could do it without training wheels this was our support. My son wanted to learn without training wheels. I would start him off by holding his seat about 30 feet and he would say let me go. It was scary and we had several accidents but in a weeks time he could ride that bike with no training wheels. He learned right before he turned 4 so when she is ready she will. Maybe try putting her feet on pedals and showing her she can do it. Eventually she will learn. My neice couldn't do a thing on a bike so for about 3 months my sister would pedal for her and evwntually she got it. Good luck.

My son will be three this weekend and he's getting a balance bike.  They don't have any pedals or training wheels, this way he can learn to balance first then go straight to a regular bike.

I have never known a child that could  ride without training wheels until they were about 5 years old. I think I was 6 when I learned.
