Trump strengthening background checks?

I’m sure there has been enough posts on guns in the last week, but I saw this tweet and had to post. 
So, what are your opinions on this?

Obama put in strengthened gun laws, this tool took them out! Now he is yapping about stricter background checks?

I’m reading the comments and all I see are people complaining.. yes this idiot of a president nixed Obama’s already working regulations, but are y’all not happy that he’s potentially doing something about it? Isn’t that the goal at the end of the day. 
As much as I hate trump, at least something is being done, like fuck there’s no winning huh?
He obviously just wants to look like America’s savior, it’s quite apparent, can we at least just be happy he’s putting bans on modifications and strengthening background checks instead of ignoring the issue?

I say go away Jim. I agree with the old Don that this should be a bipartisan issue, but background checks are not all that we need to be doing.
