Late birth story (but quick delivery)

My story is quite late as I haven’t had the time to post it. My pregnancy has been a little of a bumpy road. Inwas pregnant with twins and lost one of them in my early pregnancy. Later through my pregnancy I took second glucose test and failed and was diagnosed with GD (sooo sucky) I watched my diet and exercised but could never get my fasting number under control so I was put on insulin and starting at 32 week had to go for NST test two times a week. My dr was planning to induce me at my 39th week and decided that Feb2 would be the day. Almost 15 years ago I had my son and my delivery was quick (2 1/2 hours start to finish) and he weighed 8lbs 8oz. I expressed to my dr I was worried that if labor was quicker i would be able to make it to the hospital. She told me things are wayyy different in your 30s vs being 19 (gee thanks! Way to make a girl feel good lol) I had a sonogram scheduled for 1/19 to do a final weight and growth check to see if a Csection would be necessary. If my son was 8.8 and GD often carries the risk of a larger baby... I could only imagine how big my lil girl was going to be yikes! On 1/18 I woke up as normal to get ready for work. I went to the bathroom and then went back in my room to get dressed. I put my jeans on and bent over to pull them up and some liquid came out. Omg did I just pee myself! Of course it happened to get on my hand ... gross and the bed. I took my clothes off and of course had to smell my hand because I couldn’t get over the fact I just peed myself. It didn’t smell like Pee sooo I washed up and put new clothes on. I went down stairs to finish getting ready and to talk with my son before her got on the bus and went to brush my teeth and what do you know leakage again! This is soooo stupid. So this time I put a pad on along with yet another change of clothes. My son gets on the bus and I get in the car. With my son my water never broke but so it wasn’t the first thing I thought of, however there is no way I was constantly peeing myself and I was only 37 + 1. I called my husband and told him I thought my water was breaking but had no contractions and of course he wanted me to go to the hospital but I decided to go to work and see if it happened again. I got to work and sure enough I found myself running to the bathroom as I was sure everyone could see the leakage (they didn’t see it but def saw me walking as if there was a penny in between my knees haha). I called the dr and they told me to come in to get checked out in an hour and a half. Well I suck and had no bag packed so I was going to go home and pack a bag just Incase. I called my husband and he told me he would leave Boston and meet me at the dr. I go outside and well what do you know a FLAT TIRE! Oh come on!! I lose. I waited at work and my husband picked me up and off to the dr we went. Dr said my water did break and I was 3cm dilated and i am in labor. Off to the hospital we go ... without a bag cause I suck and procrastinate :). We arrive at the hospital and they want to do a weight check and talked about pitocin so I wouldn’t have a dry birth. Baby girl wasn’t un proportioned (which is also a risk of GD babies) and was not looking huge (estimated at 5lbs 13 oz) so a vaginal birth was ok (yay!!) I get all cozy with my monitors and get checked and finally i started to have some contractions. My dr came in at 12:15pm to check my cervix and I was 4cm dilated and this is when they said my labor started. He still wanted to give me the pitocin as natural labor can take a while. I wanted to bounce around on the labor ball for a while and about 10 big contractions in all the sudden I was positive the baby dropped and was bouncing on the ball with me.... I was like Ummm nurse I need to push and she was like ummm are you sure ... oh yes I am sure. I got on the bed and she checked me and was like yup you sure are ready. She call the dr and started to prep the table etc and kept saying please don’t push please don’t push... no pushing hahaha. Tell my body that.... my body isn’t a good listener. The dr comes in and was like ok don’t push just breathe. Now I was breathing and talking through my contractions but he still said stop pushing. I told him i wasn’t. I felt burning so i knew she was frowning and I could feel him down there as well(stretching me maybe?) and he said no no ... no pushing .... and just like that she was determined she was ready to come out and that she did! It was an amazing feeling. My husband said she came shooting out like a rocket and wasn’t sure how the dr caught her lol!
