Should you hold off on cutting and clipping baby’s umbilical cord ?

Saw a few articles on this saying that it is better to wait 2-5 min after baby is born so that all nutrients and blood can get into baby before you cut the cord, thoughts ?

It's called delayed cord clamping and there are numerous benefits

There's science that shows delayed cord clamping has great benefits. The main one being how 30% of the babies blood and nutrients are still in the cord, and if you wait until the cord is white and stops pulsing, you've given your baby that jump of more blood and nutrients and immune cells. My hospital does it as a standard of care now, even with csections (A little bit shorter but they wait til the last second). I 100% did it and would do it again.

I delayed, What harm could it do ? its not like I was wanting to eat it with  the placenta.

I wanted to wait and cut mine but my daughter wasn't breathing when she came out so everything had to be done by the doctors she is a healthy 8 yr old now

I couldn’t because my son was born with meconium but I wanted to and totally will with the next baby if all goes well.

It's up to the parents and doctors to make that decision. There's pros and there's also risks with delayed cord clamping.
