Have you all come out of the closet yet?

I still haven’t come out of the closet, I’m too scared because the few people who have come out at our school are all considered losers, and a few of my friends are hardcore Christians and homophobes.

Hi, I live in the Deep South and I’ve been out since at least the beginning of high school and there are plenty of people who don’t accept me. I just get over it. I know it’s tough, but you really have to find the people who do accept you because that’s where you’ll find happiness. I completely understand not wanting to deal with homophobia and being considered “lame” but you have to try for yourself to be open about who you are. School isn’t forever and once you graduate, you’re going to kick yourself for hiding yourself away when you could have been happier as yourself.

I came out a little over a year ago. I’m fortunate enough to live in a very accepting community, but you’d be surprised at how many people might be okay with you being you 🙂

I never thought I would need to come out to be honest but I've lately come to a realisation that I might actually be bisexual and it excites me that I can admit it to myself. However, I'm from a very religious family which is why I never see myself coming out and I know I don't have a choice if I want to have a family. I wish that you're not in the same situation. If you're feeling very nervous then maybe you should start with a friend you think is going to be most accepting. it's going to be considerably easier if you have at least one person supporting you. best of luck!

I've come out to my best friends and a trusted teacher at my school about being bisexual. I don't plan to tell anyone else unless I end up dating a girl in the future. Don't feel like you HAVE to come out though. It's your choice ^_^

If people who came out at your school are considered losers, then that sucks, but honestly it doesn’t matter what people think. It’s who you are and idk you but you are amazing! Plus, if your friends don’t accept it, and are homophobic towards you (and others) then that’s wrong and they’re not your true friends. But you might be surprised, a lot of people I know were hard core christians and homophobes and grew up and saw that they were wrong for putting someone down because of who they are attracted too. I got pregnant at 16 and I’m pansexual, and they surprised me when they stopped being homophobic or trying to throw the Bible in my face, I’m not saying all of them grew up, but at least I know who my true friends are. They’re the ones who accept you for you, and if they are your true friends, they will accept you, and if not, fuck them

I didn't even really have to come out,  my mom just kinda figured it out because of how close I am with my girlfriend who she thought was my "friend". So around 2 months ago she asked me about it and I was like yeah she is my girlfriend. Luckily my mom doesn't really mind,  although my dad isn't as supportive, but I don't care.

I haven't came out to anybody yet as Asexual Panromantic.
Hardly anyone knows what it is that knows me, and I do drop slight hints towards it, for example how I bring up people being pan or ace. Every time I mention "Panesexual" or "Panromantic" my mom asks what part of the LGBTQA+ community it was. So of course I explain. My dad is homophobic, and I'm afraid he won't accept me as a person. Lucky me, I do have a close family friend who is lesbian, who I may be able to talk to, privately. I have a Gender Fluid and a Bisexual friend I'm able to talk to at school though.

Just be careful of who you tell and If they don’t accept you and try to change you then they aren’t your real friends
