Do I need to sleep on my side in first trimester?

I read that it's bad for baby to sleep on my back or stomach.  I'm only 5 weeks pregnant, do I need to sleep on my side already or is this true later on in the pregnancy?

You can sleep however you want to. They say around 20 weeks to not sleep on your back, but I'm still sleeping on my back a little. Your body will let you know if it's a problem as you'll feel lightheaded/ dizzy. As far as laying on your stomach I still do a little, but not often. You wouldn't crush your baby, but with a bump and huge boobs it's getting pretty uncomfortable lol.

As long as you are comfortable any sleeping arrangement is fine. Baby is so tiny and well protected in your uterus that you cannot harm it sleeping on your tummy. However most doctors say that the best one for the blood supply to your uterus should be sleeping on your left side.

It's later on. The baby is way tucked in there and still under the pelvic bone. By the time it's dangerous to sleep on your tummy it will be too uncomfortable to. I'm 5W3D and I still do it :)
