DTap vaccine?

I don’t want rude comments just trying to make an informed decision and just curious what others have done.

never! especially in pregnancy. says right in the insert not tested on pregnant women. we become the guinea pigs when we get a vaccine while pregnant.

I did tons of reading on this one. I believe fewer than 20 babies a year die from whooping cough. Also, whooping cough season is same time of year as flu season, so unlikely babies born in spring and summer will be in contact with it. Also concerning to take tetanus and diphtheria vaccines because pertussis is recommended...three to cover one concern?

Make sure you get a single dose vaccine if you do get it, there is something called thimerosal in multiple dose vaccines and it has Mercury in it. They say it's safe but I would rather be safe than sorry.

I am already vaccinated, and haven’t needed any vaccines during my pregnancy (30 weeks). We are not huge on vaccines, and won’t be giving our daughter every single vaccine, but we will be giving DTap. It protects against pertussis (whooping cough) and is a pretty big deal. Babies die from whooping cough. The risk/reward scale is worth it for us on this one.
