Brushing her tooth?

My baby just cut her first tooth. She’s 6 months. I’ve been brushing her tooth with a little baby toothbrush and some of that kiddy toothpaste... am I crazy for brushing her tooth already? My SO says I am but I don’t want them to get yellow! 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s perfectly fine just make sure shes not swallowing any of the toothpaste! Just put a tiny pea sized amount!  :)

This sounds bad to admit but I am terrible at brushing my 22 month old's teeth and he has a mouth full! And when I do, it's just with a damp cloth (no toothpaste). I was the same with my now 4 year old. Neither of them have yellow teeth and are both cavity free 😊 That said, every mom does her own thing. That's just my experience with kids and their teeth! Definitely more power to you for remembering to keep up with them!!

I don’t think you need toothpaste but my mum was told by a child dentist that you should start brushing as soon as the baby gets his or her first teeth

We have been brushing my sons “teeth” since birth and he doesn’t have teeth yet. We don’t use toothpaste, but once a tooth comes in we will. The earlier you start the easier it is to get them to let you.

Babies don't need toothpaste!! Our daughter is 9 months and currently has 4 teeth and 4 more coming in. Our doctor has always advised against toothpaste at this age and just to keep them clean with a damp wash cloth.
