Why do you make your own baby food

Question

For those mommas who make their own baby food, I’m curious why? I normally hate cooking, but am really enjoying making my little person’s purees 😁 I never thought I’d be making baby food (it seems so much easier just to buy the pouches), but here I am in the kitchen baking avocado muffins, lol. I also realized that there’s really little variety in the packaged food and when I cook I can use lots of different fun flavors 👍

All of the above! Plus, I had my baby in Japan and the starting solids education is so home cooking centric that I didn't even think about buying pre-made . When I visited family in America when my baby was 8-10 months, we got some pouches for convenience since we were out of the house a lot.

All of the above. I also like knowing exactly what's in the food and how it was processed. The more you cook down foods the more the vitamins break down. I also blend with breast milk instead of water, so I know she's getting plenty of calories. ( she's only 6 months)

I make my daughter yogurt pouches. She gets one a day, with banana, organic yogurt and no sugar added apple sauce. And depending on the poop situation I’ll add raspberry. We cloth diaper so I’m careful how many berries she gets 🤣

At my baby shower it was a game to guess the baby food, and after trying those there's no way I'm feeding those to my kids. And I had a baby bullet given to me, so I've got all I need to make it 🤷🏻‍♀️

It tastes better. All 4 of my kids always got whatever I ate or some variation of what I was eating. They loved my sweet potatoes and things like that way better than the jar stuff. My theory is when they are in the belly they taste everything momma eats. They get here and you try to give them bland jar food and they hate it. Give them home made food and love it. Baby just likes flavor way more. At least my kids always ate what I made way better than the jar crap.

I could never give my kid those nasty jars, especially pureed meats. they taste terrible. I wouldn't wanna eat it lol
