Painful sex at 13 months...still?!

Weaned LO at 12 months exactly. Now 4 weeks later, still no period. Sex is still painful too. It feels sore initially, but then gets better after that. Does anyone else think this is normal and that maybe the hormones haven't gotten normal after weaning yet? Once good ole Aunt Flo comes everything will be better? Or should I be worried about birth trauma to the pelvic floor?

I've had a lot of pain during sex. My Dr said lots of women report painful sex after having kids. It's very normal. Unfortunately they can always tell us why or help with it. She said it can last up to 18mths after childbirth. I actually do have a bladder prolapse and that's why I have pain with sex. I will have to have surgery to correct it.

I had this issue and ended up doing 6 pelvic floor PT sessions and it made a huge difference. I'd always had issues with painful penetration and found out during birth that I had a really tight band of tissue that tore, which was likely causing the years of pain I'd had. The midwife who delivered my son said that sex would probably be way less painful. I was still experiencing a ton of pain at 6 months pp so I decided to do PT and she explained that scar tissue, lack of blood flow, the trauma of pregnancy and birth can effect a lot of your pelvic floor. For me it was so worth it to do PT.

I have had some pain as well. The only weird thing is that I had a c-section...🤨🤷🏼‍♀️
