When you debate here, do you really think you change someone else's mind?

On a controversial topic? We all seem pretty set in our ways. I'm ready to stop seeing judgement towards those you don't have the same beliefs as you. Argue fairly and don't take anything to heart.

I meant to say no,anyways I hate the fact that my comments keep getting deleted! Like why? Just because I don't agree with you and you get butt hurt,that doesn't mean I don't have a right to feel about it the way I feel! Then they go whine about it to the admin like we are in pre school lol

I see a debate as a logical, factual way of talking and an argument as others trying to persuade. 
When debating and showing another side with facts, I have had ladies say, 'I never though of it like that.' Lol, it's nice to bring up other views but no, I don't ever expect others to change beliefs or views...many here do though. I just hope to see and raise respect for everyone

I hope that I show people that there are 2 sides and just because we don't agree doesn't mean we can't listen and talk, and that always the people on the other side are still people. They're not horrible for holding a different opinion to you

Sometimes. There are lots of ladies here who actually make sense when they are talking, make great points when they debate, and respect everyone else while they do it. Other people just jump on a bandwagon, have no idea what they're talking about, and then act like children because all they really care about is winning the argument or having the last word.

I usually don't ever change my mind because before making a big decision on a topic I do my research.
 
However,  I do find it important to hear everyone's side in something that is that controversial because it is important to see why everyone has the position that they do in order to understand one another better, and get along with one another in peace in the real world.

As someone practicing to be a lawyer , you can never have a good defense if you don't know what the other party is going to bring up, so know all the facts to avoid ignorance.
