How does BBT work?

I'm thinking of buying a bbt thermometer, how does it work? Does your temp get hotter when you ovulate? Or dip down? Will glow help me to,know what the temps mean? I have no,idea how it works

Temping is actually a great way for TTC and preventing pregnancy the natural way. Ideally you should start temping the day your period ends until your period begins or the whole cycle. You should temp at the same time every morning before doing anything (getting up,stretching, grabbing your phone etc.) if for whatever reason you do it a different time make note of it. Temping will show you the exact day that you ovulate by a significant shift in temps. Your temp will dip the day that AF will show her face. If you use it all the time you'll save yourself lots of stress debating on being pregnant or not because if you have a HIGHER than average temp for more than 16 days you know for sure that you're pregnant. It should dip if you are but if it does that means that you miscarried. It takes some time to do it but it definitely saves you a lot of stressing. I leave my bbt underneath my pillow that way it's right there for me in the morning.
