Mission Trip

My husband and I have been in the Philippines for a mission trip. There's a group of about 10 of us visiting an orphanage in Cagyan De Oro to dig new waterlines, repaint the children's play equipment, fix flooring and windows in their cottages, and help them become a self sustaining village through farming. And of course, playing and developing bonds with the orphans here. It's been such an amazing and eye opening experience to see what these kids go through over here. As an American, I've been spoiled with running water, air conditioning, toilet paper, a finished house, and plenty of food to eat. My heart breaks for these poor children and I encourage everyone to help others in need! Whether it's in your own community or overseas, there are people in this world less fortunate than ourselves, and it's up to us to bring love, help, and compassion to others!
