Baby’s projected weight at 36 weeks vs. actual?

Hi. I need your advice please. I’m 36 weeks pregnant and had my last scan. It projected baby’s current weight to be at 6lb 6oz (almost 2.9kg), and her foot at 3in (7.5cm). Aren’t those measurements too big for 36 weeks?! I still have a month to go and fear to grow a too big baby to deliver naturally. How were your experiences please? Thanks a lot in advance.

At 35 weeks they told me he was 7 lbs and est to be 20 inches. They induced me at 38/6 and scanned me before to see his weight. 9 lbs and 22 in. He was 5 lbs and 19 in! Don’t worry about it.

A lot of doctors use the threat of a big baby to persuade moms to have a c-section because they are faster than a vaginal birth.

With my first at 38 weeks they did a growth scan and estimated 8lbs, induced me because they said any night I’d not be able to push him out. He was 6lbs 9oz, those scans are a pound either way, not worth paying attention too.

My baby was born at exactly 37 weeks and was 6 pounds 14 ounces, and my sister was  6lb 6oz and was born at 36 weeks and 4 days, so that sounds about right.

My daughter was estimated 6lbs 9oz , then I had my 36 week appt dr said she’s at normal weight . My sister in laws son at 36 weeks was estimated at 6lbs ?oz I can’t remember the oz . Always keep in mind tho that it’s always an estimated weight , give or take 1lb but they’re pretty close to accurate !!
Also keep in mind baby will still put on about 1/2 lb a week until delivery !

those measurements not accurate I think. with my 1st, she was supposed to be 8 1/2 lbs. when she was born at 40w4d she weighed 6lb 12oz

Mine were both spot on. So I’m not sure with the next one if it will be a good measurement or not. I think it can be accurate or way off.

At 37 weeks they told me my daughter would only be 4 pounds and would need NICU time. I had her at 37 exactly. She was 6 pounds 9 oz. they literally don’t know.

At 36 weeks they said my baby was 8 lbs 4 oz and my doctor said we would induce at 39 weeks since he was big. My water broke at 38 weeks and he was 8 lbs 4 oz. I’d say the scan was off, not that he didn’t gain anything in 2 weeks.

I had growth scan through out my pregnancy my one at 35 weeks seamed weigh off.. they said he was 5lbs 8oz... he was born at 39 and 3 days at 6lbs 2ozs... My previous scans were the following 26 weeks - 2lbs 2oz... 29 weeks - 3lbs... 32 weeks 3lbs 14oz and 35 was the 5lbs 8oz... between the first 3 scans he had a growth of 14oz... if he followed that trend the rest of pregnancy 35 weeks scan should have said 4lbs 12oz... and 38 weeks approx 5lbs 10oz..  which would then seams on guide to 6lbs 2ozs at birth...   the later the scan the harder it is for measurements to be taken as baby is squished in there.. I believe my first scans were pretty accurate.
