How long should I ttc before going to the doctors for help?

I'm 24, and my husband and I have been ttc since October 2014 after getting my iud removed. How long should we ttc before I should go to the doctor to get tests/help?

Well I've been TTC for a year and my dr. Did a bunch of tests and said every thing is good and then told me to go to a baby dr and I told her that I wasn't at the that point yet. It takes a helthy couple up to a year and it seams that every month my hubby and I weren't  on the same page so I sent him all kinds of baby reading materiel about how a women's body really works and for the last two months we have doing every thing right. lol I think he thought I was lieing to him to get more sex.
