I was COMPLETELY against breast feeding the whole time I was pregnant. I had considered it a couple of times but that's all the further I ever went. it just seemed like it would be weird to me. but the day I went to the hospital I had no formula or bottles with me and decided while in labor that I was going to try breastfeeding. it turns out I was crazy because it wasn't weird at all and even though it was super painful I carried on with it for 8 weeks and decided to switch to formula instead. I then tried to go back to breastfeeding around 12 weeks because my son would be rooting all the time and it made me depressed and I felt like I let him down so we tried it but as soon as his mouth touched my nipple he turned away so I knew he was okay with how I switched it.

Milk is ready when baby is hungry. So at2 am the milk is warm and ready. Also the money for formula.

Baby is 5 days old and all along I was very non-committal to it. What changed my mind was an easy(but painful at first) latch, a hungry baby and my milk coming in within 2 days(painlessly). All of these things in combination made me think that it was mean to be. I'm still not sire how long I'll do it but 6 weeks is my goal, then 8, then 10 and re-asses between 10 and 12 weeks  since I'll have to go back to work.

I exclusively pump. I was torn between formula and breast milk when I didn’t know I could just pump and bottle feed.
I chose to pump and bottle feed the breast milk instead of using formula to give my babies the benefits of breast milk without actually having them on my breast (it’s just not something I have the desire to do), and honestly, it’s free. Formula is expensive and having twins would double that cost for us. Insurance covered my breast pump and storage bags are the extent of the cost and they hardly cost anything.

You can always try and if it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. That's what I did anyway. My son was constantly hungry, as I wasn't making enough milk. It was too exhausting for me so after two months I decided not to anymore. Breast feeding is definitely a huge commitment. You have to pump in between and it is painful but some believe the benefits are far greater. For me I felt the formula gave him a lot more nutrition than I could offer. I'm vegetarian and I wasn't taking in enough protein anyway. Everyone is different though. Some people it comes easy. I think it just depends on a lot! Do some research on it 😃 Goodluck✨

I read the blog post “Tips for Successful Breastfeeding” by Ellen Fisher. She wrote a bunch of tips and it just inspired me. I thought it was well written and very supportive. It made me feel like I could do it and that it would be difficult at first but very rewarding and beneficial to my baby. The thought of feeding a human from my breasts initially made me uneasy honestly. I had never seen someone breastfeeding in person. But the more I read into it, the more I felt like it was just the natural and normal thing to do.
