If your parents are concerned, politely let them know that you know they're just looking out for you, but you're an adult and need to make your own life choices. If he's truly "the one" he'll be around enough that eventually they'll get used to it and stop seeing the age gap.

My husband is 10 years older than me. I originally just told them he is about the same age as my oldest brother  (6 years older) then they found out his actual age and yeah they were a little upset. My parents are the same age so I guess they thought everyone should be too but once they met him and talked more it wasn't that big of a deal. I was 20 when we started dating.
