cause for concern?

I need help mamas.  It's day three back from the hospital with my newborn and my breast have suddenly doubled in size and I have large lumps where I suspect there may be a clog or several.  I've tried warm showers and compresses but to no avail.  There is no redness but I have varicose veins all over. what can I do to relieve the pain??? they hurt too much too massage and I was told it's not good to pump so soon after birth.

Pumping is not so bad.. I did it on my third day as well and it instantly reduced the engorgement .. and my milk supply is good now

So warm compresses and showers are actually going to increase your milk. Cool compresses may help a little. Try hand expressing a little (you can do this is the shower since that warm water will help encourage a letdown). Yes it is early to pump to try to build a supply or for full bottles but if you're really uncomfortable or baby is really struggling to latch due to engorgement, you can pump a little. Just be cautious because pumping will prolong the engorgement. Mostly just keep putting that baby on your breast. Your supply will regulate, it just takes a little time.

Get some cold cabbage leaves and put them over your breasts inside your bra/top and leave them there for a while (I did for a few hours/overnight).
Also, while in the shower, you should stroke from the outside of your breast in toward the nipple with gentle pressure, all over. Yes it will hurt, but bear with it, try for 10 mins.
Take some paracetamol, do the shower bit, and cabbage once out of the shower.
Do not pump. This will make things worse for you because pumping stimulates milk production, making your breasts more engorged and painful.

I pumped the third day due to this. I actually am super glad I did it provided me with a huge freezer stash for when I started work and because of it I never got behind. 
Although I do have a over supply at times.

The lactation consultant had me pump it all out to avoid mastitis. Days 3-5 are the worst for engorgement and then things will calm down. Good luck!

I also pumped when my milk came in. It helped me a lot and reduced the pain I was in.
Do what works best for you. Everyone has their own advice, the goal is to navigate what works for you, your body and the baby. 
I also introduced the bottle to my daughter around 3 weeks old. She takes both the bottle and the breast fine. It’s not recommend, but I did what works best for us.

I did pump like the 4th day it helped alot, its not bad at all. Its even better bcs you can get fever and would have to definitely stop breastfeeding
