My baby boy is here at 37 weeks. HELLP syndrome

Mackenzie

We are finally home!

I noticed I was gain weight like crazy. When I asked my doctor they said it was normal because I started out at 102. At each appointment they kept finding protein and blood in my urine and would send it off for the same lab work.... each time they said everything was fine. Finally I decided to talk to a midwife in the practice... she was very concerned with the notes from my past visits and what I was telling her. She decided to do different tests. I went home Friday night and by Sunday morning I was in so much pain. I couldn’t breath, was getting sick, And had blurred vision... so I called the doctor on call she told me she thought I had the flu. Come Monday I was feeling a bit better but not 100%. Tuesday afternoon the midwife called and asked me to come to the office for more tests.... I went home again and then got the call. I went into labor and delivery to be monitored because of the amount of Protein and blood in my urine they found. While being monitored my blood presser shot up and I began have the same symptoms I had on Sunday. They ran test after test . I Ended up have HELLP syndrome and was induced. Five hours later I gave birth to a healthy 5.15IB baby boy. I thank god that the midwife asked me to go to the hospital. With all the medications they had me on I didn’t understand how life threatening HELLP syndrome was until now (I’m off all meds except pills to heIp my blood presser) If was home who knows what could have happened. I am beyond blessed to still be here to raise my two boys and thankful I finally found someone who listened to what I was saying and wen the extra mile to find out what was wrong.
