Should I have a baby shower?

If people are offering to throw one go for it! You'll need stuff even if it is your third. Diapers, wipes, clothes ect.

My best friend had a baby shower for her 3rd. It was a high tea at a really nice place, she requested no presents and we all paid for the high tea so it didn't cost her anything.
I don't think it matters how many kids you have, to me a baby shower is more about celebrating with friends / family than getting presents.

If you feel uncomfortable having a shower, maybe have a sprinkle! But if people are offering to throw one for you then I think you should say yes because they must not mind as much as you think! Lol baby showers are fun and it's a great way to get prepared without breaking the bank. I say go for it :)

I think every baby should be celebrated. If you feel weird about it have a diaper shower where people only bring diapers or wipes, let's face it you need a million of those!  Or another idea is what my cousin did since she had a shower thrown by her friends plus one from work she didn't need anything by the time her family shower rolled around so we all prepared a dinner for her to put in the freezer. All her hubby had to do was throw a meal in the oven, no prep work, no stress. They didn't have to prepare dinner for 2 weeks!  😄

Heck ya! All babies should be celebrated! It doesn't have to involve presents if that makes you uncomfortable but hey, free diapers never hurt anyone!

If people have volunteered to throw you a shower, then they are ok with the fact that a third baby would get a baby shower. I personally think every baby should be celebrated, so why not have a shower? People aren't required to bring gifts- they can come see you and your belly, celebrate baby, give you a chance to socialize before baby comes, and if they want to give gifts of love to you and baby, then that's wonderful. Normally where I'm from, a first baby would get a baby shower, a second baby with change in gender from first baby would get a shower, or a baby after a long gap between children would get a shower, or if you're dumb like me and keep giving away your baby stuff and immediately getting pregnant with another baby. Lol. But lately, a lot of people are having a shower for every baby. If someone offers to do it for you, then I think it's totally ok- if you are throwing it for yourself, then that might be kind of awkward.

I just had a sprinkle for my second they will be almost 6 years apart. A shower is to shower the mother with gifts for everything she will need for baby. And a sprinkle is just sprinkling the mother and baby with the necessitys. Seeing as I had a crib and changing table and diaper genie and all that I got stuff like a booby pillow and crib sheets and changer pad cover, diapers,wipes and bath stuff and a little more. Plus I didn't invite every Tom dick and Harry to my sprinkle like I did my shower. I had about 18 close family and friends. It was special and was about celebrating life.

I am torn about this. I am not trying to sound jugemental to anyone so please don't take it that way. I was raised that ettiquette says you only get one baby shower for your first baby so hearing people have showers for second, third and so on babies gives me a knee-jerk reaction of "tacky". However, this was in the days when cribs and changing tables were passed down through the
family. These days, the majority of nursery furniture grows with the baby and can last them until they move out! That means you need to buy all new supplies for every baby. Also, back in the day, most people didn't find out the gender of the baby and had many gender neutral baby supplies that could easily be passed down. Today, it is less and less common that people don't find out the gender and what if your first baby is a girl and your second is a boy? You aren't going to be able to reuse a lot of your first child's belongings. Also, being a twin, my mom got everything she needed for me and my twin sister at her shower and we were both celebrated. Now that I'm pregnant, my in laws and I were going through my husband's old baby books where we came across a photo album from my mother in laws baby shower. My brother in law who is three years younger than my husband asked where the album was of his baby shower. My mother in law didn't have a shower for him and you could see the disappointment in his face. If you don't feel comfortable having another shower, what if you have a "Welcome Party" or something like that where the invitation explains that you are excited to welcome another baby and want to celebrate them. If people want to bring gifts they can and you can say on the invite. "If you would like to get something for the baby, we are registered at ...." I think that is a great alternative to another shower and everyone can celebrate the baby, and bring gifts if they want to.
