Was the name of Dolly Parton’s show “Dixie stampede” racist?

So, my husband and I went to buy tickets last week for the “Dixie stampede” to find out the name was changed to “Dolly Parton’s stampede.
When we arrived, all of the logos had been changed, and updated. My husband asked one of the workers why the change occurred and they informed us that it was because they received complaints on the racism of the word “Dixie” in the title.
So, is the word Dixie really racist? Should this have been changed?

I am so confused how Dixie can be racist. It’s a term referring to a location. Dixie is the south. It’s a term of endearment we use to talk about the south in general. There are songs about living in Dixie.

Dixie can represent confederacy, and the old south. I think most people associate it with racism because the song Dixie features blackface.

Alot of people associate Dixie with the confederacy and all awful things they did and stood for. But no the word Dixie is not inherently racists it just has a negative and very strong connotation

Dixie means south. It’s not a racial term.

I don't think the word "Dixie" is inherently racist. I don't know the full history behind it, so I could be wrong. 
However, the whole show is caught up in the attitude of glorifying the antibellum south, which I think is pretty undeniably racist.

***** forgot to add this, but when I looked it up online it said the change was because they were looking at expansion beyond the south.
So, not sure if this worker spilled something she shouldn’t have or if she misunderstood something.
