and possible nicknames? I like Christian but dont love the nn Chris. Tristan has a similar sound and wouldnt get Chris, but not sure if it has a feminine feel.

As a person who can't pronounce R and W correctly I voted Christian because it is easier for me to pronounce than Tristan (always comes out Twistan). Not many people have difficulties like myself but it may make a difference in your decision?

My son and SO's names are Tristan. They get called Tristan 99% of the time. We do call our son T but that's really his only "nickname"... I can't count the amount of times people have asked his name and called him Christian. Christopher is another good one. You couldn't call him topher instead of Chris.

You could just tell people his name is Christian and to go by that.  My brother is almost 30 and goes by Tom, however everyone in the family still calls him Thomas.
