Are men afraid to fall?

I’ve been living with my man in his mother’s house. We’ve had little talks before and he tells me he’s doesn’t want a relationship right at this moment because he wants to start a business and he has other priorities like going to court. But he takes me on dates, kisses me every morning before leaving for work, cuddles me at night, hold my hand while driving etc etc but then he’ll get pissed off at me and tell me the opposite of what he’s showing me. I’m terrified, I love him I’ve invested so much into this, I just don’t know why he’s hot and cold. We started off friends so we have a little background but I swear it’s lot just in my head, he acts like we’re together and when he gets mad he just throws the “I got shit to do before I’m ready for a relationship”..I wonder if he’s scared since his last relationship was in 2013.. I feel like we get closer and he pulls back a little like he’s afraid to fall..what do you guys think?
