Having issues after telling Work I’m pregnant...

Lacey • Pregnant with our rainbow 🌈 baby!

I’m a dental assistant in a pediatric office. Which means we use the nitrous for every single patient that we see. There are me and several other assistants that rotate being being in the operative room, doing treatments evaluations, working in hygiene and being at the front desk. We have plenty of assistants that can work in operative where the nitrous is used. I let Work know that I am not comfortable working around the nitrous while I’m pregnant especially since I just had a miscarriage in January. The office manager seemed fine with it and was just going to rotate me between hygiene and front desk, but the other assistants are making a huge deal out of it because apparently they worked around the nitrous and thinks it’s dumb I’m worried about it and thinks I should have to. I’m so upset and feel like I can’t even be excited about my pregnancy. I feel like my job is being threatened and I absolutely can’t lose my job right now. I don’t think I should have to choose between taking an unnecessary risk to my unborn child or being jobless all because someone else doesn’t agree with a decision I make for my child. Im going to talk to the office manager tomorrow and I’m so worried im going to end up losing my job now that everyone is making a big deal over it 😩
