Relationship in Shambles!

I've known my bf for 4 yrs before we made it official. We made it official in March. This whole time we've known each other he knew that I was a mother. He told his mother about me before we made it official, she supported him. I've spent quality time with her and she loves me. All of a damn sudden, his family is saying I'm using him to help take care of my son. I work 5 days a week up to 10 hrs a day. I don't ask him for a dime. Whatever my son needs I get it on my own. So now he's under a lot of stress on how to fix this so we can be happy as a couple or if its worth mending period. Not only that, I am a Nagger, I get jealous often, and I get mad about petty stuff so that makes it worse. He wants this to work, but minus the stress that has come between us. So I decided we needed a break to think things through. Was this a wise choice, or should I call it quits and move on?
