Does any one have or has had CMV?

Just found out on Friday that I tested positive. Trying to be optimistic.

My son, who will be 7 in November was born with cmv...  I don't know if it was primary or not... I had amniocentesis done but they didn't check for cmv... they done a c section at 35 weeks....it was after he was born they told me he had this, I had never heard of it....  unfortunately my son is severely disabled... but he still a blessing.  I'm currently ttc # 2..

Had an amnio and tested positive. Not sure yet if it's primary or secondary? How can I find that out? Worried for our little girl. I'm almost 25 weeks. Started Valacyclovir (the antiviral) as well.

I found out when i was 8 weeks pregnant that i tested positive for cmv. I was tested because i work in healthcare. I am now 15 weeks and have had a couple more blood tests done. They are testing for cmv Igg avidity, basically how strong the level of antibodies you have. The lower the number, the more likely it is a primary exposure. Its been pretty scary because of the potential effects it can have on the baby. My first blood test came back "intermediate" meaning they dont know if it is primary or seconday so i have to repeat the test. They are having me go in for a 16 week ultrasound (that is the earliest they might be able to see anything). Im keeping my fingers crossed that everything turns out ok. I know what you are going through in this scary time. Positive thoughts for you!

Yes me! I had the virus prior to getting pregnant (which I didn't know about). I only found out after I'd had my 20 week scan and they noticed that baby's ventricles were measuring slightly large. We have been scanned every few weeks since to be monitored but the consultant is happy baby will be 100% fine! ☺️ good luck xxx
