Two days before AF...

I keep thinking my AF has come and instead it is watery brown discharge when I wipe. I have been wearing pads for a day bit nothing is on them. My nips are killing me and I have cramping off and on for a week now. I took a hpt and got bfn 2 days ago. (4 days before AF) Is this just a strange month with my AF??
