Recently on social media I’ve come across a debate on changing your last name when you get married. I wanna know what everyone’s thoughts are about this. Should everyone change their last name? Would/did you? Did you find it difficult?

Personally, I’ve never wanted to change my last name for a few reasons:

1) I like my last name. It works perfectly fine and sounds good with my first name.

2) I don’t want to go through all the work.

3) his sister has the same first name as me and I don’t want to have the same first AND last name as her. That’s weird.

4) if I did change my name, we would either both hyphenate or create a last name that combines ours together.

5) if I ever decided I wanted to change my last name, I can do it any time I choose
