it's not a period if it's happening when you're pregnant. but there are other causes of bleeding during pregnancy that can mimic a period

Any bleeding while pregnant is not normal. It has to be caused by something, and it’s not a period. That doesnt mean it’s immediately life or death, though. Bleeding can occur from irritation to the cervix as the uterus has a lot more blood flow when pregnant. Bleeding is only concerning if it’s accompanied by cramping, pain, bright red, and filling a pad. xx
