Admitted to hospital.

Charlotte

So yesterday at 4am I woke up suddenly at home as I was feeling very unwell, I had a soaring temperature of 38.5 and after walking around for a bit I was finally violently sick. Once it started it did not stop until about 4pm.

I am currently 33+3 with my first baby girl. I stayed home because the hospital wanted me to get the sickness out the way before I came in. Mum came home at 4pm and took me straight to the hospital and I was admitted straight away and hooked up to a tone of machines to check mine and babies heart rate, hers was at about 200! Which then made mine shoot up! I had cannulas fitted in any vains they could find which was extremely painful and sent my heart rate up and hers.

I was then taken to a private room, a consultant came in and said if her heart rate doesn’t decrease over night she will be delivered by emergency c section. I was given the first lot of injections to increase her lungs and help them develop quicker. This was how concerned they were. I had bloods taken, and over a hundred urine samples later after my fourth bag of fluids.

The consultant got the anesthetiser to come see me and discuss my concerns I had quite a few but he seemed lovely and said hopefully we won’t see each other later which cheered me up.

Mum left at 11pm she’s been such a support and has been so worried. I managed to get some sleep and luckily enough she didn’t make an appearance and her heart rate as well as mine has gone down. I had the other injection this morning 12 hours later (very painful!) and hopefully after I’ve kept food and water down they will send me home for bed rest. Bubba only weighs 4lbs and 2 and it’s far too early for her to arrive I hope she stays comfortably in there for the next 4 weeks. 🙏🏻
