Guilty about maternity leave

So my husband and I work for his parents at an auto repair shop. It’s been in the family since the 60’s and we have a pretty small staff.

I plan on taking 12 Weeks (unpaid) maternity leave and now that it’s getting closer my mother in law is not-so-subtly guilting me for taking so much time.

She doesn’t want us to bring the baby to work, and my husband and I do not want to put our six week old baby in day care so me staying home is he only option.

This is my first baby and I want to really enjoy this time off but I hate that I’m being made to feel bad about it.

I guess I just needed to vent...
