Is it true??

Is is true that when you have wider/big/huge hips it helps with natural birth?? I've heard stories but never know whats true and what's not I'd like to hear opinions 😁

Internal bone structure- the opening inside of the pelvis where the hip bones connect, can vary a bit, but that won’t make a huge difference for labor length or ease unless there is a huge discrepancy between the size of the mother and size of baby. Labor can be quick or slow depending on position of baby, position of mother, cervical change, and strength and effectiveness of contractions. The hormone relaxin loosens the ligaments between where the bones connect in the pelvis so the opening gets larger still to accommodate passage through during delivery. someone can look like they have big hips and have a slow labor, and someone who looks like they don’t have large hips can birth a Thanksgiving Turkey in two hours. There are a lot of factors. I recommend watching the three videos this woman put out on the process.

I have small hips. I am 5’2” and was 98 pounds, size 0 pants before both of my pregnancies. I had a smooth vaginal delivery. I tore, but it’s normal to tear. My mil and two SILs are all bigger than me - taller and hips, etc - and none of them could have vaginal births. It depends on your pelvis more than your hips

I have wide hips and I tore with my 1st 3 babies.  1st was the worst.  I think it's different from person to person

I’m just under 5’1 and less than 100lbs when I got preggo. I was super worried about not being able to do a vaginal birth because I’m so petite, but I have very wide hips. I delivered vaginally with no complications or tearing! Seemed like it was true for me!
