Missed period on birth control/ two negative pregnancy tests

I take birth control correctly everyday, my period was late so on the 3rd day I took a pregnancy test that came out negative and about a week prior I had taken another test that had also come back negative. Any ideas? Some times my boyfriend and I use condoms but not always
