How far along until you can get an ultrasound?

This is my first pregnancy and it's all very new & scary to me. How far along do you need to be before you can get the first ultrasound?

My first was at 8 weeks. Every doctor does it a little different. You won’t see anything before 6-7 weeks though.

12 weeks 3 days was our first one and I was so amazed that our little one was like a fully formed baby at only that far along . I was expecting to see a gummy bear haha here’s our ultrasound from 12 weeks

In the part of Canada that I'm from, you get your first ultrasound at 7 weeks to confirm
