advice on different birth controls??

so my mom was talking about putting me on birth control in hopes that it will balance out my hormones and try to help with my period (also because she has an idea that im sexually active) , but I'm on depression medication and stuff and she's afraid that depending on what birth control I'm put on, it will interfere with my depression. does anyone else have depression, on medication for it, and on birth control?? if so what kind and how does it work?? i really need some advice and help please!
