Mirena IUD Questions

I’m scheduled to have my Mirena IUD put in on April 9th & I have no idea what to expect so I have a couple questions.

Some information about me that may or may not be helpful: I’m 10 weeks postpartum with my first child. I had my first postpartum period from 03/06 to 03/09. Definitely 150% know for sure I do not want another baby for at least 3 years.

So here are my questions:

1) What can I expect when I go in to have it “installed” (for lack of a better word)?

2) Is it painful?

3) What’s the initial aftermath like (the “healing process”)?

4) Anything I should watch out for?
