am I in the wrong? read description

my baby is 6 weeks old, and wont get his vaccines until he's 8 weeks. So far I haven't let his half sister (my step daughter) meet him because she isn't vaccinated, a move my other half understands. however my step daughters mother got really snotty about it, saying I was being over protective because I'm an inexperienced mother and that her other children were fine. my doctor agreed with my choice to restrict contact until he's vaccinated. so I want to know whether you would've done the same as me or whether you agree with my step daughters mother that im being over protective?
