Pills or d&c?

Ladies I need advice! Last Friday my levels were 1600.. today they are 1400.. a whole week and they haven’t dropped hardly any.. I have been bleeding for 2 weeks. (Blighted ovum) I should be 8 weeks today :(. Anyways, I was going to hold off and let my body do it’s thing, but it ain’t doing it fast enough.. and I don’t want to bleed for however many weeks!! So my question is pills or d&c;? What are yalls experiences?? Thank y’all

I took the pills last night at 5:00 (4 tablets of cytotec vaginally) with 600mg Advil. I was in bed sleeping and it was over by 11:30/11:45 ish. 
I had bleeding and cramping for 3 days prior after stopping my progesterone supplements. 
It was about 10:00 When things were getting more uncomfortable than period cramps (before then not much different than what was going on the days prior) and i went up to lay in bed. For about 45 minutes it was quite painful and intense. I laid in bed shivering and freezing but hot and sweaty at the same time. I threw up 2 times. It hurt to walk and i was most comfortable just sitting on the toilet pushing like i needed to have a bowel movement. I found myself wishing i would have just had the D&C; at that point because i had no idea how long this was going to last. I went and laid back down around 11:15 and for some reason kept coughing. I felt a big gush and a solid mass slip out. The pain was immediately less. I Went to the bathroom and stuff just poured out of me for 10-15 minutes. Once things slowed down i went to bed. 
I got up to change pads every 2 hours or so, but the bleeding was decreasing. So far today bleeding is like a regular period and no clots or tissue. No pain or cramping either. 
I should have been 11 weeks yesterday. Baby always measured small but measured 8 weeks when there was no longer a heartbeat. 
Hopefully I never have to go through this again, but I would definitely opt for the pills again. 
I have a second dose I could take “if needed” but i really feel like everything came out because of how fast the pain and cramping stopped.

Hello I had my D&C; done 2 weeks ago and it’s painless I was terrified I never had surgery before it’s quick and you wake up in the recovery room and the cramps afterwards wasn’t bad at all didn’t need any pain medication for them I didn’t want the D&C; at first but I couldn’t take the waiting and it was the best decision I made for me and my body but this over all happening has been a very traumatic experience good luck !

I did the D&C; for my blighted ovum didn’t find out until 11wks. I couldn’t stand the thought of waiting it out, I just waiting it over. The worst part was the IV the procedure was fast and pain free

Thank you ladies for your advice ❤️ I decided on the d&c; because I am tired of waiting, bleeding, and cramping everyday. It’s scheduled for Monday morning. 🤞🏻 I shouldn’t have read the risks from it on my surgery paper though. It said “loss of ability to carry pregnancy”. He said those are required by law to be put on there and very small chance of happening. Still though, my anxiety mind is freaking out now. 😩

I didn’t have either. However, I’ll tell you my story and how I felt and hopefully it helps some. I started miscarrying on February 7th. I went in for my appointment on the 13th as a follow up and I was still bleeding a lot and having pressure. She said she thought the baby was stuck in my cervix. She checked things out and it was. She just removed it there. Wasn’t the most wonderful experience but I’m glad I didn’t have to see it. I honestly think that would have devastated me way more. I am so sorry for your loss.

Sorry you are going through this! I had a blighted ovum too... should have been 9 weeks but measured 7. I chose the pills... wasn’t the worst experience but 8 weeks later I had retained tissue confirmed and had to have a d&c...; much easier as you are anaesthetised so have no idea what’s happening and the bleeding was minimal after... tests unfortunately still aren’t full neg (they seem neg then if I go back to them they are pos so there is still hcg in my system) so it seems either way you can have a problem after but apparently the risks of retained tissue are lower with a d&c; and speaking from experience of doing both... it’s the easier option physically and for me mentally. Hope this helps and you have a much easier ride than I have so far xxx
