Won’t get ultrasound til 10 weeks?!

So my doctor won’t have me in until 10 weeks along. Like that I I’ll be my first time going in for this pregnancy and she will do an anatomy scan of the baby then.Is that not normal? Should I be in sooner than that? I’m 5 weeks and 3 days now.

No, that’s normal. It’ll be a dating scan though. The anatomy scan is usually around 18-20 weeks.

I didn’t get one until 18w... I heard they wait till later on since the ultrasonic waves aren’t really that great for baby

My Ob does a first pregnancy appointment around 8 weeks and you get a dating ultrasound around 8-12 weeks, and then an anatomy one at 20 weeks. You only get more if there is an issue etc.

my first ultra sound for my first was 8 weeks but since I lost him, when I got pregnant for the second time I had my first ultra sound at 5 weeks. here in CT I believe 8 weeks is typically when they do the first ultrasound and check for the heartbeat

With my first two I didn’t have US until 12 weeks. Now with my third I had one earlier just to date because I haven’t had a period since before having my second. Totally normal! Hang in there. It’ll go by fast

Depending on where you are it sounds extremely normal. They would only do a dating ultrasound possibly earlier if you had irregular periods.
