so I had just turned 41 weeks on Thursday January 12,2017. I had a prenatal appointment that day at 11am and I was quite anxious to ask about the membrane sweep or induction which ever came first. apparently I was only 1cm dilated and Dr was already to speak to me about membrane sweep that could lead to possible jump start of labor. which I agreed to and let me tell you I prefer giving birth over again then feel that membrane sweep pain again(although I might ask for it when I turn 39 weeks this pregnancy). Anyways he then said since I was 41 weeks and it could be a 50/50 chance of starting labor today I could chose an induction date so I don't run the chance of having a larger baby since it looked like he was an 8lb-9lb baby already. which can probably lead to a C-section if I had trouble in labour. so I opted for that Saturday January 14,2017 at 7pm.He said that I had to come back the next day Friday January 13,2017 for NST testing to check how baby was. after I left my husband took me to hike and then we went home and took a hot shower. so that day I lost my mucus plug and started having cramp like pain which I didn't make much of bc I have had really really bad cramps since I got my period at 8 years old. come Friday at 8am I was at the hospital for the NST test. I had to breath thru these cramps but nothing I could handle it just felt weird to me. the nurse tested for an hour and since he wouldn't move she told him, if you don't move I'm going to have to send you today to get taken put by C-sectipn and what do you know he starts moving lol. by the end nurse told me I was having contractions 6 mins apart of which I giggled to bc I didn't feel much pain. afterwards my husband's aunt offered to take me to walk drink some lemon leaf tea to which she assured if i was really going into labour it would make them come faster and help them go faster and then take a hot shower to help my body relax to make things move faster as well.sure enough at 9 pm we left her house after doing all that and contractions were getting a little more intense. I laboured at home and timed them to 3 to 4 minutes apart for 45 to 60 seconds long. I let my husband do some work them I told him it was time to go.so on the way there I got to say the car ride was a horrible experience. I got there and couldn't walk anymore. by the time I got to triage I was 3 to 4 cms along . the nurse that was prepping me started to TRY to put the IV thing in of which she failed plenty of times at getting my veins and even wiggled the needle inside. she couldn't do with the butterfly!! then she finally said I will do it next to your thumb which mind you she made it painful and she apparently damaged a nerve which has caused problems. the spot she initially tried to punctured was really swollen purple. contractions were too close together so asked for and epidural but they first had to start me to IV fluids. any way I was 3cm when I arrived and quickly opened to 5 cm and got admitted. the anesthesiologist came after the IV fluids were started and was administered the epidural and if i would of known I was 7cm along I would of just called off the epidural. Anyways it wasn't long before my water broke and two hours later I was told we were going to start practice pushes. but I couldn't feel my legs or anything below my waist so the nurse said I was just making push expressions lol too funny but I stopped laughing bc she said my son's heart was dipping and if i couldn't get my son farther down enough I was going to have an emergency C-section. so I freaked out a little and was determined to get my son out. then he dropped far enough Dr came and they were eyed wide open bc even when I stopped pushing he kept pushing himself out lol their expressions were the funniest. at 10:18 am @ 8lbs. 9.5 oz and 20.5 in. long Seth Eliseo was born alert healthy and even opened his eyes and held his head up and looked at everyone. ever since the he has been such a blessing and his daddy couldn't be happier until our second Son comes that is lol
ps lol no induction bc he was born on that day lol
