Early gender scan?

I’m from the UK so had a scan at 12 weeks, I’m now 14 weeks and will not find out the gender until my next scan at 20 weeks (we definitely want to find out gender). Is it worth paying private for an early gender scan around 16 weeks or just waiting? I’m dying to book one but my boyfriend thinks we should was until 20 weeks and that waiting will make the 20 week scan more special? I don’t know...help?
